ABOUT US

About Us

In 2012 we took a long look at how cremation, changes in family dynamics and rising funeral costs had affected the funeral business. We noticed that some families wanted a different experience and different options. Cremation had become increasingly popular and some families preferred much simpler arrangements. We made it our mission to find a solution for families that was a simple, affordable yet dignified. We opened the Cremation Society of Milwaukee in 2012. The model was so well received that we expanded opening the Cremation Society of Waukesha in 2017 and the Cremation Society of Madison in 2018. Simple arrangements, simple pricing and the ability to make the arrangements from the privacy of our clients home was exactly what people were looking for.

We invest in websites that are easy to navigate and friendly staff and funeral directors to oversee the whole process. Since we specialize and only offer simple cremation, we do not need fancy chapels, offices or automobiles, which allows us to keep our prices very affordable. We also offer very affordably priced urns, cremation jewelry, register books and memory cards should you desire.

At the Cremation Society we are here to offer dignified arrangements with a modern touch. Please feel free to email us or call us with any questions.

Meet the Staff

Emma McMinigal

I grew up in Scotland where I met my husband, we were both engineers for the same defense contractor. We moved to the US when our daughter was 11 months old and our son was born here 3 years later. They are now grown and our son is a civil engineer while our daughter is interested in becoming a therapist after serving in the Navy. Our favorite souvenir from her time in the Navy is her husband that she met when they were both stationed in Norfolk, Virginia.

I discovered my passion for funeral service after my dad passed away and I graduated the mortuary program at MATC in 2015. I cannot imagine doing anything else.

Lisa resides in Milwaukee with her husband Kurt and her step daughter Mollie. She graduated mortuary school in 2015 at Milwaukee Area Technical College. She loves working to bring comfort and direction to the people she meets, especially families in their time of sorrow. Before becoming a funeral director, Lisa was in nursing for eleven years specializing in Alzheimer's/dementia care. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time at "the" cabin and working on the house.
