Burial Isn’t the Only Way

Are you and your family not in love with the idea of burial itself? You don’t have to be. Cremation is a great alternative for anyone who isn’t entirely sold on the idea of burial.

There is nothing wrong with burial. It is a traditional and very conventional solution. Families choose burial everyday. But it isn’t for everyone, and it is important to remember that there is another option. Cremation works, too. And cremation may be an extremely beneficial option for a great many people. So it is worth thinking about at the very least—especially if you aren’t entirely sold on the idea of burial. If you or someone you know is looking into direct cremation in Shorewood, WI, consider Cremation Society of Milwaukee. We specialize in direct cremation itself, but we are always happy to talk to you about your options in general. Perhaps you will find that direct cremation is right for you. Perhaps not. Either way, you owe it to yourself and to your family to explore your options in greater detail.

There is no rule saying you have to choose burial. There is no truth to the idea that burial is your only option. It just isn’t the case. Burial makes a lot of sense for a lot of people, but it certainly isn’t mandatory. To the contrary, cremation is every bit as popular as burial in the United States these days.

There is a reason for that.

Cremation is simple. It is straightforward. And it is typically more affordable than burial. That is especially true if you choose direct cremation and avoid any of the extras that sometimes result in additional expenses. So there is a lot to like about cremation. People also like the idea that there are so many things you can do with remains. They are portable after all. That means you can display them in an urn or other container, scatter them somewhere special, or even use them to plant a tree. There are a lot of options, and that makes cremation more attractive for many.

But regardless of how much you like the idea of cremation, the important thing to remember is that it’s there. It is a possibility. You aren’t locked into burial. You don’t have to consider burial at all if it doesn’t sit right with you. That’s an important starting place. What are you comfortable with? What seems right to you? What makes the most sense after weighing your options? After giving the matter some thought, burial may or may not remain a viable option. But you should certainly think about it and compare the two choices. You can do so quickly, or you can do so methodically. The important thing is that you do so at all, ensuring that you don’t end up with a decision you aren’t entirely comfortable with.

Sometimes we end up doing things we don’t really want to do. It shouldn’t be that way, especially when it comes to a decision that is so important, one that has such lasting effect and consequence. You shouldn’t be forced into a decision, and you shouldn’t be coerced. You should be happy with it. It belongs to you.

If you are interested in direct cremation, consider reaching out to Cremation Society of Milwaukee. We won’t try to talk you into cremation. That’s not our job. We just want to make sure you have options and that you understand those options. That’s what we care about.
