Direct Cremation and Early Planning

The first reason to plan early is that you can get a much better sense of your remaining budget and what might be required to plan any other events you might have in mind. Many families want to avoid a traditional funeral home so that they can plan their own event, perhaps a very small gathering for the closest friends and family. These are often the kind of families who turn to direct cremation. So early planning can give you a much better sense of costs associated with direct cremation and the kind of time and money you can commit to other items—whatever they may be. This is a huge advantage. Last-minute planning may make it more difficult to handle any additional events, even if they are more like a casual gathering among close relatives.  

Another reason for early planning is relieving your family of any additional stress and anxiety associated with the process itself. For example, there is some paperwork to complete and some information that we will need before proceeding. None of it is terribly complicated or overwhelming. But getting it taken care of sooner ensures that you can spend more of your time doing the things that really matter when the time comes. Losing a loved one is difficult, and you may wish to focus on seeing close friends and family during that time. The last thing you want to worry about is paperwork or additional information. And you really don’t have to if you get in touch with us early. Generally speaking, that’s better for everyone. Remember, we want to make your life easier. A head start is a great way to do that.
