Sometimes Choosing Cremation Is All About a Feeling

Are you and your family wondering how to approach a decision about cremation and burial? Sometimes there is a lot to consider. Sometimes there isn’t. Either way, we can help.

Choosing cremation doesn’t have to be the result of an intensive decision-making process. Sometimes it is just about having a certain feeling, and that’s perfectly fine. There is nothing wrong with trusting your instincts when it comes to these kind of things. Often those instincts actually mean something. If you or someone you know is looking into direct cremation in Whitefish Bay, WI, consider Cremation Society of Milwaukee. We care about your decision, and we ultimately want you to do whatever you are most comfortable with. That may mean cremation. It may not mean cremation. We certainly can’t control that, and we don’t want to, either. This is a deeply personal decision, and there is no universally agreed-upon solution. It really is up to you.

For the record, direct cremation is a little bit different. It is unique in that it only involves the cremation process itself. Direct cremation does not involve any planning or arrangements associated with a funeral or memorial service. This is perfect for any number of families, namely those who are either not interested in a funeral or those who are handling the arrangements on their own. Every family is very different, so these kind of circumstances aren’t at all unusual. If you are at all interested in direct cremation, feel free to give us a call or set up an appointment.

When making this kind of decision, it is important to remember that there really aren’t any right or wrong answers. Much depends on the right fit. That means your preferences and priorities are extremely important. You should never worry about making someone else happy or trying to fit into some kind of mold. That’s not your job. This is a lasting decision. And while it certainly impacts friends and family, it is primarily about you. Keep that in mind.

Some people approach this kind of decision very methodically. They learn everything that they can about their options. They take notes. They discuss it with family. They may even establish criteria or other weighing mechanisms in order to compare cremation and burial more carefully. Of course, there is nothing wrong with this kind of strategy. Many people find it very helpful. And many people want to take their time when making this kind of decision. Generally, having that kind of time to think things through is a good thing.

But your decision doesn’t have to be a production. In fact, in can and often does simply come down to a feeling. Call it a gut feeling. Call it intuition. Sometimes you just know. Cremation is one of those things where you may instantly have a strong opinion—one way or the other. And while it is always a good idea to learn more about your options (potentially even discussing them with a professional), it is certainly possible that you simply like the idea of cremation somewhat inherently. Maybe you’re comfortable with it. Maybe you feel really good about it. Whatever the case may be, you shouldn’t ignore those kind of instincts.

If you are interested in direct cremation, consider reaching out to Cremation Society of Milwaukee. We won’t try to persuade you that cremation is the answer. We don’t believe in trying to push you around. That’s not our job. But we do want you to know the possibilities so that you can make a decision that’s right for you
